I wonder sometimes how much of a choice we really have in terms of these ecosystem experiences. I understand Apple's desire to maintain a competitive advantage but it feels that the lack of interoperability with other platforms is done (sometimes) in spite.

Having said all of this, it really shouldn't be for Apple or any other company to mandate what is interoperable and what isn't: we need stronger regulations in our respective countries that set the tone.
