A love letter to Linux
I’m falling in love with computing again
I’ve documented already some of my efforts to move from MacOS to Linux. Over the last nine months, my attempts to play with Linux on older hardware, as well as newer machines like the Framework laptop, have been infuriating, nerve wracking but never, ever, boring. As a low-level tech’ enthusiast, I have been left thinking one thing: Big Tech’ has taken the joy out of computing. My short journey with Linux so far has rekindled something in me that had lay dormant for a while: a curiosity about tech’.
I am sitting on my sofa on a Saturday evening tapping out this story on a 2013 MacBook Air running Linux Mint. I love this little underpowered machine, but I love more what the operating system has unlocked in me. The following are some of the highlights.
